Residents at Ashfield marked National Bee Day with a calm and creative session of mindful colouring, enjoyed alongside a refreshing cuppa.

The activity gave residents the chance to relax, get creative and spend time together while thinking about the importance of bees in our gardens. As they coloured in their bumble bee pictures, residents chatted about the valuable role these much-loved pollinators play in nature and the difference they make to flowers and green spaces.

The photographs capture the lovely atmosphere of the session. One image shows a resident smiling at the camera with her colouring sheet on the table in front of her, while another shows a resident carefully colouring in a bee with a yellow felt-tip pen. Other pictures show residents proudly holding up their finished artwork, clearly pleased with the results.

Once completed, the bumble bees were displayed against beautiful summer field backgrounds, creating bright and cheerful pieces of artwork for the home. The finished displays are now on show in the lounge, where they add a lovely seasonal touch for everyone to enjoy.

Creative activities like this can be a wonderful way to support wellbeing, encouraging relaxation, conversation and a sense of achievement. At Ashfield, National Bee Day was celebrated with thoughtfulness, colour and plenty of appreciation for our buzzy little friends.
