Residents at Ashfield enjoyed a lovely, relaxed afternoon together making Easter decorations and gifts while chatting over a refreshing cup of tea.
The craft session gave residents the chance to spend time being creative at an easy pace, with felt-tip pens used to colour in a range of Easter-themed designs. The photos show residents carefully decorating paper Easter eggs and chicks, with one resident proudly showing her finished Easter egg while enjoying her tea. A final image displays the completed crafts, including beautifully patterned eggs, chicks and crucifixes, all made during the afternoon.
Activities like this offer much more than the finished decorations. Creative sessions can help support wellbeing by encouraging concentration, gentle conversation and a sense of calm. Sharing the activity together over tea also adds to the social side of the afternoon, giving residents time to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
The finished decorations looked wonderful and made a cheerful seasonal display, while also giving residents the satisfaction of creating something by hand. It was a simple but very enjoyable way to spend the afternoon, with plenty of colour, conversation and Easter spirit.
